E-mail newsletters

If you have online database, which contains e-mail column, you most probably will want to send e-mail newsletter to this e-mail. As well as use some data from database in this e-mail, like Name column. Now this is possible in QuintaDB's e-mail newsletter

You can create and even schedule E-mail Newsletter right in QuintaDB. If you have E-mail field on your web-form and you gathered some e-mails in your database you can start using it.

 

You can find "E-mail newsletter" menu in the "Newsletters" module. Please, notice that you can also send e-mail newsletter from Records page. Select some records and click on Actions menu. You'll see 'E-mail newsletter' link.

You need to select at least one record before clicking on E-mail newsletter button. Also, in order to use this function, please, make sure to add E-mail field to your form. It can be done on Fields page.

Once you are on E-mail newsletter page you can start creating your e-mail.

E-mail column or Record owners: select your database column which contains e-mails to which you'll send your e-mail in a moment. Or select "Record owners".

Subject: choose descriptive e-mail subject

Body: enter your e-mail text. You can format this text using Word like editor. Also, you can insert data from database using |Column name| format. For example, you can enter "Hi |User name|". Where Username it's a field on your form (database column).

From: using this option, you can make sure user will see your or your company name instead of QuintaDB

Reply to: this is the e-mail your user can reply to

You can save your newsletter e-mail settings as a template. This way, you'll not need to fill all the fields each time you want to send e-mail. You can load your template using drop down at the bottom of the form.

Also, please, notice, link at the bottom of the page Statistic. This link allows you to see basic statistic of newsletter usage. You can see date, subject and number of e-mails sent as well as Total amount of e-mails.

As you'll notice we do not allow to send more then 200 e-mails per time. This is why using e-mail templates will save you a lot of time while sending e-mails to more then 200 users.

 

Email newsletters scheduling

After creating a newsletter template, you can automate the sending of emails. Go to the Newsletters module and click on the "Automatization" button next to the template.

Create new task and choose when to start newsletter. It can be date in the column or exact newsletter date run:

If you choose the 'date in column', you can also set the day's amount before (with minus) or after date in the column when to send the newsletter.
Using the 'exact newsletter date run' you need to set the date, time and time zone:
